The Avalon Peninsula
The jagged coastline is among the oldest exposed rock formations on Earth.
Geographically speaking, the Avalon Peninsula is a large landmass that forms the southeastern tip of the island of Newfoundland. It is connected to the main body of the island by a narrow, three-mile-wide strip of land known as the Isthmus of Avalon.
The peninsula is shaped by deeply indented bays, and it stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean through four distinct smaller sub-peninsulas. Because of its location, it is heavily defined by its marine environment, quaint fishing villages, and exposure to the raw forces of the Atlantic Ocean.
The Magic
The energy here feels different, grounded, and timeless. It’s a place where the land itself seems to hold memory; where each wave carries both power and peace. Perhaps it is rooted in the namesake legends, perhaps it is rooted in the ancient earth beneath the feet of those who visit here. Or, perhaps it’s something more.
